What's the worst thing someone could do?
Betray a friend or family member.
What's the worst thing someone could do to you?
Hurt someone who matters to me: Da, or my mother, or Will, or Mordred.
What's the worst thing that could happen to you?
Having to live forever.
What's the worst thing someone could say about a person?
That the person has given up his or her duties, and betrayed the people who cared for him or her.
What's the best thing someone could say about a person?
That he is loyal. Or she. Intelligence is important, and wisdom, and kindness, but the most important thing is loyalty.

Are men and women basically different?
I do not think so, but then, I have not known many women well.
Which is better, to be a woman or to be a man?
I am glad I am a man, but I do not think that answers the question.
What can men do that women can't do?
We are stronger, usually.
What can women do that men can't do?
They can have children. Frankly, I am glad that I cannot.
Is it possible to change genders?
Pardon me?

How old is old enough to have sex?
After marriage, whenever that is.
Is it wrong to have sex if you're unmarried?
My da would say that it is, no question. I do not think I would do it. If someone else did, well, that would not be any of my business, would it?
Is it wrong to have sex with someone other than your spouse if you're married?
[Bran would instinctively think yes, it is wrong, and then he'd refuse to say that out loud. See picture of Guinevere and Lancelot next to "adultery" in encyclopaedia.]
Is it wrong to have sex with a person of the same gender?
I do not think my da knows that it is even possible, and if he did, he would not approve of it at all. But again, what other people choose to do is not my business.
Is it wrong to have sex with a person of a different race (or a different intelligent non-human species)?
*blink* [Bran's almost never met anyone of a different race, outside of Milliways. It wouldn't occur to him that there might be a taboo on interracial sex - it isn't something they worry about at Clwyd Farm. As far as interspecies sex, Bran's reaction is a resounding 'um, what?']
Is it wrong to have more than one sexual partner at the same time?
Yes, of course.
Is it wrong to have sex with someone you don't love?
I am sure there might be reasons why that could happen. It would be a bad situation, though, and I am sorry for the people.

What are the responsibilities of a mother toward a child?
[assuming that Guinevere is not within earshot] *with some degree of bitterness* I wouldn't know.
What are the responsibilities of a father toward a child?
To raise him and teach him what is right.
What are the responsibilities of a child toward a parent?
To honour and respect him, and take care of him, when he needs. [Notice automatic pronoun choice. Bran's only thinking of one of his three parents, here.]
Which should be more important to you, your parent or your child?
The same. Parent and child should have ... yes, that's the word, reciprocal responsibilities to each other.
Which should be more important to you, your parent or your spouse?
Parent, I think.
Which should be more important to you, your child or your spouse?
Is it wrong to have a child if you're unmarried?
According to the minister, it is. I suppose it is wrong, but if a child is born to parents who are not married, it is not the child's fault.
Is abortion wrong?
*silent, for a long time* I think that there are times, and reasons, why it might be necessary. When there is very great need. [I actually decided, ages ago, that Bran's going to perform abortions someday, after serious counselling and such, at need. He'll have to ponder the ethics of it very carefully, every time, and there will be times when he refuses to perform abortions when requested.]
Is contraception wrong?
No. No, it's not. But I doubt my da would agree with me. Chapel, you know.

Is there one true religion?
I think not. Why Methodism should be any more right than Anglicanism ... I am no theologian, I cannot answer that.
Does a deity or deities exist?
I think there is a God, but I do not know anything about Him at all, really.
How important is it to believe in a deity or deities?
The minister says that faith is more important than works. I am not sure I agree.
How important is it to actively practice your religion?
It is not as important as Da thinks it is.
Does magic exist?
*surprised that this is actually a question* Yes, of course.
Is practicing magic wrong?
No. I do not even think that my da believes that it is wrong, although he will say that it is, if you ask him. He can repeat the words, but there is no belief behind them.

Is killing always wrong?
There are some people that the world is better without. Mind you, I do not know if I could kill them myself.
Is war always wrong?
How old is old enough to fight in a war?
We were twelve, weren't we? And it was a war, really, although no one was going to die, yet.
Is rape always wrong?
Is torture always wrong?
[For once, Bran has no personal example to guide his answer here. He takes a moment to consider the question on an abstract level.] Very likely. I expect that torturing ... does things to the torturer. Opens him to the Dark, or even the dark things in himself.
Is theft always wrong?
I cannot think of a time when it might be right... but I suppose there could be something.
Is slavery wrong?
Of course it is wrong.
Is lying wrong?
I do not do it. Whether it is always wrong, I do not know.
Is swearing wrong?
You have to swear, sometimes, because there is nothing else to say.
